Kunsthalle Seinäjoki is a topical contemporary art venue showcasing art exhibitions and offering a varied programme of other events. The charming exhibition space and multidisciplinary community at the Art and Culture Centre Kalevan Navetta provide a framework for a visionary contemporary art programme. Kunsthalle Seinäjoki draws inspiration from the story of the building as well as the themes and issues arising from the countryside – both in South Ostrobothnia and globally.

The exhibition programme consists of 4–5 exhibitions per year, planned over a period of about two years. The exhibition programme is produced by a programme team, led by an art curator. Find out more about the venues and programme choices.

Kunsthalle Seinäjoki offers new ways for different audiences to discover contemporary art. We organise seasonal art workshops and courses for children and families. We have our special K65 programme for older people. Each exhibition is accompanied by open guided tours, artists’ meetings and other activities. We organise the annual Performance Club and AARG Art and the Rural programme to provide a platform for discussions on current topics in rural life and contemporary art. The Summer Artist programme employs artists at the start of their careers for a two-month period.

Kunsthalle Seinäjoki also acts as an expert in public art in the City of Seinäjoki. The city acquires public art in line with its policy programme. Find out more about public art in Seinäjoki
